Destiny College is truly an international
environment. We have had students from all over the
world. Some of these countries are listed here:
Germany, Kenya, Zimbabwe,
Swaziland, Malawi, Scotland, South Africa, Ireland, India,
USA, England, France, Poland, Angola, Rwanda
Some common
questions that are asked by international students applying
to Destiny College are answered below:
Is the college
allowed to accept overseas students?
Yes we are.
How do I study in Scotland if I am from overseas?
If you are an overseas student you may need to apply
for a Student Visa. Contact the British Embassy in your
country and they can send you the forms to apply. Allow
plenty of time to apply for the visa before the course
starts. To apply for your visa, you will first need
to be accepted by the college, and pay our application
fee. We will then issue you with a Confirmation of
Enrolment letter that you will need to apply for your
visa. It is then your responsibility to further the
visa application process.
Can
I work?
Students can work part time whilst at Destiny
College to supplement their income. Overseas students requiring
visas are normally allowed to work up to 20 hours per
week.
Are there scholarships?
The college does not generally provide scholarships.
Students are responsible for funding the course and all
their accommodation and living expenses.
Do
I have to apply by a certain date?
You can apply any time. If you are an overseas student,
you should allow enough time to obtain your visa if required
and to organise your flight to Scotland. We would encourage
you therefore to apply several months in advance of the
October start date to avoid disappointment.
Does the college have halls
of residence?
No. The college does not currently have its own accommodation
to offer students. Whilst finding accommodation ultimately
remains the responsibility of each student, the college
can provide helpful advice during that process.
